I have been the nursery teacher at Dunn Street Primary School since 1997, which is an unbelievably long time I know, but am now hanging up my teachers hat and retiring to make way for a new nursery team. It has been a joy and privilege to teach your children throughout my years at the school and so rewarding to watch them blossom and grow in confidence when beginning their journey in school life – I am proud to have been part of that. Many sisters and brothers have passed through the nursery and it has been a pleasure to build relationships with both them and you their parents and carers. I have so many happy memories of your children from my time at the school and I shall treasure them always.
This is not how I had expected to end my career and saying goodbye to you, my colleagues and most importantly the children in the nursery, but the dreadful Covid epidemic in the last few months has prevented us all from carrying out plans and focus simply on keeping our families safe. I will miss the hustle and bustle of nursery and although sad to be retiring, I am also very excited to be starting a new chapter in my life with my family and friends. Thankyou for your friendship and kindness during my years of teaching in the nursery and I wish you and your children good health and happiness always.
